Join us at our farm in Laingsburg, Michigan for a journey through amazing scents, stirring and soapmaking. Spend an afternoon in the "soap kitchen" where you will learn the basic principles of crafting cold-process vegetable and herbal soaps. <br> Each participant will craft 5 pounds, approximately twenty-two 3. 5 ounce bars, of luxurious soap. We will be crafting soap from a base of olive, palm and coconut oils. Your soap will be scented with essential or fragrance oils of your choice and we will also have a large selection of botanicals, clays and spices to complement your soap. All base, essential and fragrance oils and herbs/botanicals/spices are included and supplied by the class. <br> Participants will take home approximately five pounds of soap, a complete soap making kit, including a wooden mold with lid, safety goggles and instant read thermometer. You will also receive instructional materials which include your soap recipe, a list of suppliers for soap making ingredients and equipment as well as information about various resources and associations for soap makers. <br>The cost for the class is $140.00 dollars. Our bars are 5 ounces and are available boxed or naked. <br><br> Our custom sliding boxes are constructed from recycled chipboard and the labels are printed on recycled paper. <br><br> Naked bars come just like that…naked.
